Sudhir Choudhrie was born in 1949, in New Delhi, India. When his father died at a young age, Sudhir’s mother became his good role model. After high school, Sudhir Choudhrie went to college at University of Delhi to earn his bachelor’s degree in economics. After finishing school, he decided not to join his grandfather’s Delhi real estate firm. Instead, he opened his own business during the 60s-70s, purchasing television equipment from the United Kingdom. To aid the development of India’s expanding television network, Sudhir would sell these items to the Indian government.
In 1975, Choudhrie set his complete focus on the export market and started the Magnum International Trading Company Ltd. In 1999, Sudhir Choudhrie was critically ill, and he underwent heart transplant surgery. This very successful operation was performed in New York, at the Columbia University Medical Center.
From 2007-08, Sudhir worked as the director of the chartered airline company, Deccan Aviation Ltd. Sudhir is presently a London based entrepreneur who has interests in international trade, healthcare, aeronautics and in the hospitality industry. And he is well recognized in the fields of philanthropy, politics and international commerce.
For investments he finds, Sudhir Choudhrie has served as the vice-chairman of Alpha Corp Development Pvt Ltd and CEO of Magnum International Trading Company Ltd for over 30 years. And in 2013, Sudhir was honored to receive the “Asian Business Lifetime Achievement Year Award” from Theresa May, for all his accomplishments. Sudhir Choudhrie remains as a longtime supporter of the United Kingdom Liberal Democratic Party.
