When you get light in your home or office – or studio – through the help of the sun, it is a completely different thing than when you flick a switch and turn on an artificial light. Natural light helps you to feel better, it helps your brain to grow happier, and it makes for better pictures and artwork. There has been a new development when it comes to artificial lighting that just might change things up a little, a new development that might make for a happier world.
Occidental College in Los Angeles now has a native Angelino for its president. Jonathan Veitch began his occupancy as the head of the college in July 2009. He has worked to improve the relationship between the college and the neighborhoods surrounding it. Veitch has modernized all of the college’s facilities. He has been responsible for upgrading the diversity of the student body.
When Jonathan Veitch took over the presidency of the college, there was tension with the neighborhoods surrounding it. The college had been expanding its physical area. This alarmed residents who feared the party atmosphere of students would affect their lives. Veitch halted this expansion, took the fears of the community seriously and began working to solve the issues. Relations with the community have greatly improved with his tenure.
One of the ways Veitch has helped with community relations is to upgrade older, unused buildings on campus. The master plan is to rehabilitate these buildings for student housing on campus. His plan is to keep students out of local neighborhoods and give them more reasons to stay on campus. The upgrade plan has already begun.
In 2013, the college installed a 1 megawatt solar array. This will keep electrical costs for the campus in check and defines standards for the college’s environmental footprint on the local community. Reuse of existing buildings is also an environmentally important issue.
This has helped enormously to diversify the student population. Veitch has taken advantage of this information and used it to help recruit students from different areas of the country as well as international students. This diversity makes Occidental College a more attractive liberal arts college for those seeking to share knowledge the world over.
Since he assumed the leadership of the college, Jonathan Veitch has been busy. He has updated the facilities and the outlook for the college. Modernization of existing buildings, a new solar array and diversification all contribute to a new outlook on the campus. This has revitalized the students and faculty and helped enrollment to soar. Working with the local communities has helped ease the tensions caused by students in residential neighborhoods. Overall, Veitch’s tenancy as head of the college has had a positive impact for the college and the surrounding community.
In this day and age, it is a rare occurrence to come across a company that shows true commitment to the right of its clients to make their own decisions.
As one of the world’s largest and fastest growing direct selling and online business and shopping communities, Qnet gives people the opportunity to raise their quality and standard of living by providing them with the tools necessary to market a wide variety of products to a large base of people.
When someone works with Qnet, they become what is known as an Independent Representative and are able to sell products to people and recruit others in their community and around the world to become Independent Representatives too. They are then given the opportunity to earn income based on the sales they make themselves combined with the sales of products made by the people that they recruit to work with Qnet. The people that are recruited to become Independent Representatives are also given these opportunities, so the recruiters should feel good about introducing others to this potentially lucrative organization while they make money!
Staying true to its mantra that Qnet is driven by choice, the organization offers a compensation plan for its Independent Representatives that has eight different payment options. The plan, Qinfinite, allows for Independent Representatives to collect their income through retail profit, repeat sales points, early payout, first purchase profit, step commission, rank advancement bonuses, year-round rewards and travel incentives.
It is understandable that people are hesitant to believe in something as new, innovative and groundbreaking as Qnet, but with affiliation with several different well known industry organizations, such as the Business Ethics Institute of Malaysia and the Customer Relationship Management & Contact Centre Association, as well as numerous awards, such as recognition as one of the leading direct selling companies in Indonesia, by DUIT! entrepreneur magazine in 2010 and the CaseTrust (Storefront) accreditation for Good Business Practices in 2009, Qnet is truly a company that people can trust.
In a world where companies are constantly putting limits on the choices its consumers can make, it is a refreshing change of pace to have Qnet, where the only limit that is put on you is the limit you put on yourself.
